Tell us about yourself
I have a degree in Economics from San Pablo CEU University. I've been a member of the Official Registry of Account Auditors (ROAC) since 2009. With nearly 20 years of experience in auditing, I have led audit and assurance work for listed groups in the infrastructure, Real Estate, and service sectors, both under local and international standards (IFRS). I joined Baker Tilly at the end of 2021 as the audit director of the Madrid office.
How do you think these last few years have influenced the way of working?
In recent years, there has been a transformation in the profession regarding the verification of non-financial and ESG information of companies, with the publication in Spain of Law 11/2018 and subsequent regulations, as well as the approval in 2023 of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which means new areas of action, opportunities, and challenges for the profession.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career?
I would tell them not to lose their enthusiasm and determination. With the first quality come ideas, and with the second, results.
